While waiting at the dock this morning, I had this little visitor land on the bow of the boat:
Taking Mike, Paula and Joe out today. We hit the SLI this morning at 5:30am to flat calm seas... We made the lefthand turn once again and headed to the #14 buoy... As we worked our way out to deeper water it went from dead flat to some 1 footers... Still very nice seas...
We arrived at the #14 buoy and made a few drifts and had a couple Ballyhoo and some large Needle fish swim through the lights... We were not marking much bait on the bottom. We decided to anchor up anyhow in hopes of the lights bringing up the baits...
Heres todays Sunrise :roflmao: :biglaugh: :roflmao:
Only baits it brought were blue runners. We lifted anchor after about a 1/2 hour as Keepin It Reel was pulling up... Nice seeing you guys again... Can't wait to read your report and see those fish you caught today. We got a shout out by another forum member leaving Jensen Beach Causeway on their way to Push Button Hill for some BFT. I didn't catch your name on the radio so post on here how you made out today. Had another shout out later in the morning, but never got a response when we replied.
We made some drifts by the buoy and picked up a couple of baby runners but decided we should run to the beach in search of some better baits. Made our way towards the beach an snapped this picture of Paula hiding from the camera... Your so lucky the pic with the hoody was to out of focus...
She told me not to post any pictures of her today. Obviously you know what that means.... :biglaugh: More pics of Paula to come. :biglaugh:
Heres a little better pic of the sun. This is about all we seen of it today...
We ended up at Bullshark Reef after finding no baits from Jensen Beach south. We seen Spanish Macks from Jensen Beach to the Bullshark for those looking for a quick meal. We met another forum member at the Bullshark that said they caught a few dines at the barge. I can't remember your boat name It begins with an A and thats about all I can remember...
We loaded up on more baby runners in short order and headed out to fish. We stopped in 45ft to a school of flying fish. We dumped in the liveys and as I was letting my line out it got nailed... but it was soon gone... :bang:
We moved out to 65ft as this was the depth Keepin It Reel located some fish. Paula immediately hooked up an Atlantic Sharpnose... You guessed it.... More pics of Paula... Enjoy =)
We pulled in lines and I assured Paula I did not take any pics of her and headed out to deeper waters... By now it has begun to get a bit choppy... Had some 6 footers roll through when we stopped out in 190ft...
We call it quits and ran parallel to the waves to try and stay dry and made it back to the Loran Tower to run the beach in search of some of those Spanish Macks we seen this morning while hunting for bait. Joe picks up a Spanish Mack off a green Clark Spoon..
Paula picked one up while trolling the area. We seen tons of these guys busting the baits the macks were chewing on...
We called it a day around 2pm... Had a great time with great company today, even though the fishing was a bit slow...
Todays Tally:
1 Atlantic Sharpnose Shark
2 Spanish Macks
How did you all do today? |

Great pictures and good report. The wind and seas are kick up over here in the panhandle. I don't know of any one going out. I know my crew is going nuts not being able to go. Our white matlin run should kick off any day with the cold fronts. Keep posting I like your posts. Gene Team Recess _________________ we never know but we always go |
