| Reefcast has given us decent seas forecasts lately, providing my kids wife and myself opportunities for some summer fishing. I had my family hooked up with summer time Kings by slow trolling pinfish I had caught near some pilings on the way out. We caught a few and lost a few probably due to my faulty rigs, I attempted making my own king rigs for the first time. If anyone has some better rigging advice I'd love to hear it. All in all it was a great week and my kids enjoy fishing with me more and more. |

Making king rigs is more of an art form than a feat of physical science. I used to buy the heck out of them in the past only to realize I could be making my own for a lot cheaper. The Feeding Frenzy Sportfishing academy is conducting two Kingfish Workshops on Nov 7th and Nov 14 in SW Florida. Workshops are held Noon-4 PM at the YMCA in Venice.
Rigs, Migration Patterns, slow trolling and artificial trolling methods are just a few of the Strategies covered in detail.
Students are asked to bring a good set of pliers that can cut wire.
