Just got back from a week vacation at Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Did a little fishing; surf and in Pine Island Sound.
In the surf we were catching small Whiting and Ladyfish. One day I saw what I think was a couple of Tarpon hammering some bait farther off the beach. Saw plenty of Porpoise and even a couple of Manatees in the surf. And one guy caught a small snook right off the beach.
We did a lot better in the Sound. We caught some nice Trout, a bunch of Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Macs, 4 lb to 5 lb Crevalle Jacks, small grouper, and had a blast with Snook. The biggest one was about 14 lbs. |
