| We start the day out with a nice ride on lake atlantic! First spot, we drift. one line hits the bottom and than a few second pass and MAHI! There was a school of about 10 mahi swimming around the boat. We manage to get 5. it seems like once you get 3 or 4, they dont bite any more. I might try a skirt next time. They bit so hard at the beginning, i took my bottom rod and reel, threw a minnow on that and started haulin mahi in with that! (all bailers) We did really good for having the boat passed the max of people! (we fish 4 at most, we had 5 today) First couple drops, jolt heads, grunts, BSB, the usual. A little rain came over us to pay us a visit. We Fished in the rain for a little than moved to another spot. We started getting good bites so than down goes the grouper rig!! Dave goes "RAHH! I THINK I GOT ONE!" Hes struggling, yet happy! Pull it in, close gag! measure him................ 22 1/2 inches Well than not even 5 minutes later, i got one on! Pull em up! measure him, 28!!! 11 1/2 lbs! Nice gag by the pirate Last drop of the day, my dad pulls up a NICE 16 inch pinkie! Compliments to the captain! Thanks Dad for another successful day aboard the "Reelaxin"!! Ill start tying rigs for next time!! No pics because... well.... someone left the camra in the car! |
