Need Venice, FL area fishing tips, Late Nov 2011

My family and I will be camping near Venice, FL this Thanksgiving.
We are fairly new to fishing and have joined a boat club.
I reserved an offshore boat out of Venice one day and another out of Punta Gorda the next day.

I'm hoping some of you locals would be kind enough to offer some tips on offshore fishing. The only limitation the club puts on us is not to go past 25 miles out.

Given that, can you recommend what areas to hit, species to go after that time of year and recommended tackle/bait?

I had heard that fishing off Cayo Costa State Park is good in the channels,
and snorkelling for sea shells is good there too.

If you know of a good area to get pinfish or cast for any other bait fish, that would be appreciated also.

i have family that live in venice. the bridges are a good place to fish for sheephead and snook. there is some good structure running about a 1.5 to 2 miles off the beach. check out the venice jetties too
