Middle Grounds 6-25,26

Headed out to the Middle Grounds about 100 miles offshore for an overnighter. Met up with crew in Cedar Key and launched around 3:30 and got to our first spot at 6:30. My boat was loaded down full tank of gas(200 gallons) 700 pds. of ice, bait, tackle, beer, beer, and beer, 5 guys, livewell full. For the first 30 miles running 34 mph she only got 1.4 mpg but after a pit stop to relieve some pressure of downing beers, I looked down at gauges was getting back up to 1.7. Sea conditions were beautiful, 1 to 2ft rollers with 5 to 6 seconds inbetween.

Got to our first spot and drifted it to see if anyone was home, hooked up. Decided to anchor and started pulling in Mangroves, B-Liners, Porgies, and Triggerfish. As the sun was going down we decided to run south of our location to a area that I have a couple spots close together, and stayed there the rest of the night. Pulled in more of the same with Gags and Red Grouper in the mix.

Not 1 Red Snapper was caught until we came back in the morning and stopped at a spot in 70ft. Heres some pics, hope they upload.

Nice load of fish you have there. Lots of groupers coming from the middle grounds it seems.
