|
|
Last weekend Zack and I had the pleasure of introducing two special guests to the impact, the pleasure, the challenge and the pain of vertical jigging.
Age before beauty The first of jigging virgins was my dad. Now dad and I have fought our share of 300-600lb tuna. Some of the battles we have won and some we have lost. But I had something different in store for him this day. He was putting on a roof the next day though, so I guess I went too easy on him.
Our other special guest was Z's neighbors 12 year old son Chris. Chris' daddy is off hunting bad buys with the marines in Iraq, so Z decided we were going to take care of this young man for the day. There were so many great things to say about this kid. He is polite, easy going, enthusiastic and most of all, a natural born jigger. Within 3 minutes we had him jigging and he was going at better than some folks that have been doing it for a while. He is a pure natural.
We put out the high speed and jogged into our first number of the day getting Chris his first ever wahoo. The rest of the day was a jack smackdown. I'm guessing we released about 2000lbs.
I have about 20 minutes of good video, but it will take me a few weeks to get my desktop set up to be able to process it.
Chris' high speed wahoo.

ET good on you for taking Chris and your dad out. Chris congrates on your first of many to come wahoo. I see your dad started out not using a belt in the first few pictures. OLD GUYS RULE!! The weather looks great over there. The sea was not that kind to us saturday. By all the pictures that was taken it for sure was a good time to be had by all. Good post. Yeah,
You might do one or two like that, but that hurt factor will take over real soon with no belt on whether your old or young.
ET,
Great lookin' pictures, looks like the crew really enjoyed it. Thanks for the good picture post.
