Florida Offshore Fishing - fishing report (new record....) (more pictures added) - that was not luck...that was skill 8) You all definately have some skillz! =) Practice makes perfect! :D

had teh pleasure of fishing with Mark, Mark, and Alain, again today....(had trouble getting a crew so we invited the same people! Very Happy

)

Fished some ledges about 50 miles from the beach......started out rrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaalllllllllllll slow until about 10:30 when Alan droped down and sure enough....first grouper on the boat!....Nest drop....BAM another grouper on the boat...but this time before we could get down again our friend N 2 deep showed up and we loved having thier company...they were trolling and we didn't want to interfere with them so we moved to another lege that we havent fished in a while about 2 miles away.........first drop....nothing....after abiut 5 minutes Mr. Mark says...."I think we need to move"...and right as he says that...My rod bends over like I hooked onto a truck......after a PAINNFUL....5 minute fight I land teh fish.....and its a wooper CITATION 22 pound red!!!! a NEW RECORD FOR ME!!!!! AND 2 POUNDS SHORT OF THE BIGGEST GROUPER EVER ON THE BOAT THAT WAS CAUGHT BY MY DAD.....of course now Mr. Marks saying "actually....you wanna give it 5 minutes?" Laughing

after a few pictures the fish was thrown in the ice chest and we continue to fish......Well everybody is down and they are nmot catching anything so I take a drop again......BAM!!!!!!! my rod bends over like a freight train AGAIN!!!!! At this point I was sour out of my mind in my back from 2 WOOPER grouper....well ya you guesses it...another BIG grouper....not as big as the first one...but 18 pounds..... Very Happy

Well by now I am beat up so I had to sit out for a minute.....and because I am the only one with the hot hand....nobody is catching anything. Laughing

Well...after about 30 minutes we finally move again to a spot 5 miles out....caught a bunch of sea bass.....

and sadly by now it was 5:30 and time to head in...........

We eneded the day with 7 grouper.........2 scamps, 1 gag, and 4 reds... (3 of them were SLOBS!!!)

way to go matthew on the slob. i just got on this web site. i live in bolivia nc but i was born in davie fla moved nc 1973 and love it but i sure do miss catching snook and tarpon all the time.

((I dunno if that was intentional or luck of the draw on me & Dave's part. lol. Great minds think alike?? haha..))
