Hit the ramps with my 14yr old son Tyler today in the 45 degree temps... FishingBuddies showed up as we were pulling out... As we were leaving the pocket he turned around, but we thought he just forgot something. We gave a shout out when we got offshore but no response... Found out later he had throttle cable problems... What kind of motor do you have FishingBuddies, I have a spare cable for a Yamaha if that would help you out in the short term...
We picked up a couple of grunts at the buoy just outside the inlet so we ran down to Bullshark. We loaded up on Greenies and a couple of sardines in short order.
We headed offshore and the plan was to put Tyler on a AJ first thing then find something fishable to drift some liveys... It was about 2 minutes after arriving at the spot and hes hooked up...
Went up to put old dad on one and I lost it. We didn't want to waste the morning now that we bent a rod so we went in search of something fishable. It was a bit sloppy offshore in 220ft on our first drift...
I hooked up to something that peeled the line off in short order but then it came unglued... No equipment failure, just an empty hook... Had this guy buzz us a few times... He grabbed my bait at one time but quickly dropped it.
Heres some cool sky pics I thought you might all enjoy...
We were not getting any more bites so we went over to the coordinates where Big Al was sunk this past week but could not locate it on the sonar... Anyone mark the coordinates of it yet? Got a shout out from Wreckerman1 (Janes Addiction) Scott (Sorry for calling you Jason, Scott)...
He was hitting some reefs inside of us... We decided it was to sloppy to run out to this awesome looking Rip we spotted on the SST maps. Would have really liked to make a run out to 600ft today but the forecast called for the winds to pick up around noon and didn't want to take any chances...
We decided to run into the Rankin and to our surprise, that was were Scott was...
We first made a drift with some liveys over the wreck and didn't get anything... Had this guy chewing on what was left of Tys sandwich...
Seen this chopper buzzing up and down the coast...
Heres Scott with a whopper of an AJ... Congrates... Any luck with those cobias after you left us?
About 12:30 the winds kicked up big time out of the north and it quickly started getting nasty. We decided to call it a day and head in.
Todays Tally:
1 for 2 Greater Amberjack... Congrates Tyler for landing yours...
1 lost mystery fish...
How did you all do today?
Great time on the water with my son today even though he out fished me :biglaugh:

Great to see you and your son get offshore for a day of fun and some long memories made. I like all the pictures. I guess 45 degrees would be cold to Y'all. Lately 40 degrees is warm to us. Send us some warm air up here. Tyler Nice AJ . Gene _________________ we never know but we always go |

I'm from upstate NY so I like the cold weather... Tyler kept warm and is looking to go out again when the cobia run is on... _________________ Alwaysforward, Never Straight |

Is Scott on this site? I would love to ask him some questions about that Everglades. Got a buddy who is seriously looking at one. Awesome pics!!! _________________ "Pamela Jane"
