The kings love them and took everyone that was sent to us along with the jig that it was attached to. No thank you.
Plus most painted jigs already have some glow on them somewhere, so its not needed and just an extra expense.
That was my experience.

The bottom dwellers would have sucked them down had they made it there....
If you take the treble hook off the Esca and replace it with your bottom fishing hook add a piece of cut bait and send it down. No jigging necessary!!! _________________ Capt. Bob

d--a, that comment sounds like u're a true "jigaholic"...??
I was originally thinking of taking the esca and put it on the bottom of a jig to get more bottom dwellers. I mean I could put some on a bait rig too. The two fish I worry about losing it to: sharks & kings. |

Use a short piece of 135lb 7x7x cable put the Esca on the top of the jig _________________ Capt. Bob

They are good to 2000 ft they don't use batteries they react to salt water to energize. The Esca also gives off a small amount of electromagnetic current that mimics a struggling fish. It will attract Mako and Thresher sharks but seems to repel Atlantic sharp nose and other undesirable scavengers. _________________ Capt. Bob

The cable will keep the sharks and Kings away as well as all other fish.....The jig doesnt have the same action with a cable leader or even a singlestrand leader.
I use bait, but only for species that are not responsive to jigs. I don't troll with bait either

The light is salt water activated , turns on when you place it in the water and turns off when removed from the salt water. It will last 100 hours submerged. 80% of the biomass in the ocean glows....
The short piece of 7x7 cable will not affect the action of the lure enough to make a difference. _________________ Capt. Bob

Welcome back to fla Jimmy.
Since light decreases the deepr you go underwater, these Esca lights look like a useful idea. Fish are attracted to light, this seems like an effective addition to many types of fishing. For instance I have a Hydro Glow to use on my boat and dock. _________________ Fountain 34 CC

You try it, I Know that it does with vertical jigging. Enough so that you wont get any more bites once you change it over.
