*Took a vacation from Destin to go back to NC and visit our families...It was as windy there as it was here, so we fished the local pier with my Father In Law (Jim, Scott's Dad) instead of taking his boat out...This report is from the first week of November....*
We walked out on the Pier at Kure Beach and saw people slinging fish in right and left. So we made the decision to fish the Pier. We rounded up some of his setups and tackle last night b/c we hadn't brought any fishing gear up from Florida. Woke up and it was COLD and windy...maybe shoulda stayed in bed longer I dunno
After getting some bait shrimp from B&B and a good breakfast fuel-up at Hardees, we got to the Pier... it was still windy and cold (49 when we left out a.m.). The bite was s-l-oooooooooooooooo-w. Nothing compared to the action we saw the day before. Anyway, we got *some* small Whiting, small Blues, and small Pompano. Actually, Jim (Scott's dad) got most all the fish!! A few people around us got a small Flounder or 2. Oh and I caught a seagull that flew into my line. Jim & some guy got it unhooked off the beach though so no harm no fowl (lol).
The winds let up a little bit around noon and it warmed up a bit. Still no *great* action so we called it a day at 2pm.
