((((Haven't used it yet? You all don't know what you're missing!))))

Proof NWS is reading Reefcast too:

Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Wilmington NC
101 am EDT Thursday Aug 21 2008

Short term /Thursday through Friday night/...
as of 3 PM...easterly fetch will persist across the coastal
waters with Fay to the south and a ridge building in from the north.
This pattern will lead to a continuation of rough seas...and the
Small Craft Advisory will remain in place for all of the coastal
waters. Reefcast plots and the latest wna output both show seas
building into the 6-8 feet range through the period.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WILMINGTON NC
421 AM EDT TUE JUL 8 2008

.MARINE...
NEAR TERM /THROUGH 6 AM WEDNESDAY/...
AS OF 3 AM TUESDAY...NOT MUCH CHANGE IN THE PRESSURE PATTERN WITH BERMUDA HIGH ENTRENCHED OVER THE WATERS. CURRENTLY SOUTH SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 KNOTS WITH SEAS RANGING 2 TO 3 FEET.

WITH THIS PATTERN DO NOT ANTICIPATE MUCH OF A CHANGE IN WIND SPEED OR DIRECTIONS. AND BOTH WAVEWATCH AND REEFCAST REFLECT LITTLE CHANGE IN SEAS THROUGH THIS PERIOD WITH HEIGHTS OF 2 TO 3 FEET THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING WITH A HINT OF 4 FEET JUST TO THE EAST OF THE COASTAL WATERS.

REEFCAST IS SHOWING 9 TO 10 FEET AT WR-4 AND 7 TO 8 FEET AT 15 MI POINT SOUTH OF SOUTHPORT. WILL GO 6 TO 8 FT WATERS 10 MILES OFF THE COAST WITH THE OFFSHORE FLOW.
