Seems to me that the folks in the Panama City area have no interest in this event. I might be wrong and hope I am.
Yall step up and show our troops some support and respect. Take these heroes fishing and show them how much we appreciate the FREEDOMS they allow us to have and the respect they deserve and have earned. |

We have over 90 heroes signed up to fish, since there has been such a lack of help from the local fishing community we have been forced to hire a head boat, but even with that we will still be forced to leave at least 10 heroes sitting on the docks wishing. If you are reading this, remember who continues to protect your rights to be able to have a forum like this. If you want to help them enjoy a day of fishing give me a shout and I will let you know how to sign up. Remember, it is at Bay Point Marina in Panama City on July 31st _________________ Support www.militaryappreciationday.org |

| Well, Well, Well. Here we are only 3 days out and no new takers to take our heroes fishing. If ya want to call this a guilt trip then ya might be feeling guilty. Because of the lack of participation of local fishermen willing to tke our heroes fishing we have had to pay for a head boat to accomadate all the sign ups. Its a damn shame that so many folks in this area fish on a regular basis but are to self indulging to take a couple guests, lets say heroes that give them the right to fish. out on the water. Even tho you probably go every day. What a wonderful way to show support. |

Hey Guys,
Just wondering how things went on the fishing trip and if you had any results of what was caught and so on, so we can post some results. I feel bad about y'all not getting enough boats unless that changed for you at the last minute?

DQ, if it hadn't been for the head boat we would have only been able to put 28 on the water, as it was we had 74 fishing of 143 who signed up. We had to close down registration a week out and tried to get as many from the standby list on as we could. We hosted over 200 heroes and their family members on shore and all involved had a great time. The heroes caught pretty much all species of fish including a 46inch cobia, no sails or wahoo. Not sure where the captains went, but every single one said it was the most fun they have every had fishing before! HOPEFULLY we can get more private boaters to help us next year, i have a feeling we are going to get a few humdred heroes signing up. The date is TBD, but I will post it up here and other places next year. Maybe after this years event proplr will realize we are a real entity and will not back out on them. On a side note, we still have a hero coming to Destin this weekend who would like to fish, its posted in the panhandle forum, can someone help him out??? _________________ Support www.militaryappreciationday.org |

On a side note.....the Captains that did go out, had such a great time they are already in for next year. Some of them are charters but most are just people that LOVE to fish.
We had one boat from North Carolina and one from Tampa, the rest were from right here in PC. My own boat went out without myself or my husband. The things we do for our Military.
For those that helped in anyway.....ONE SIMPLE THANKS!! |

MAD 2011:
We are set for another event in Panama City. June 4th at Bay Point Marina we will again host our countries heroes and their family members for a day of fishing and fun. Our facebook page is up and running and again, I will be posting updates here. Since the gulf is now open and things are looking up we hope to get a larger turnout from the community.

Dang, just a couple of weeks before I am moving down to your area. I'll put out the word among my people and see what we can come up with. Hope you can put everyone on a boat next year. _________________ "Pamela Jane"
