| Tell us how many of you out there love to jig fish all day? Or at least every trip. Let me first say I am a jigaholic. |

Now this is service. I sent amanda the suggestion not half hour ago and she already opened a new forum. pretttty awesome.
I have never jigged and don't know where to start. I've watched videos thats about all. I entertained the idea awhile back but never acted upon it. _________________ Fountain 34 CC

It is just about all I do now. I will tell you it is more addictive than just about everything else. What are you trying to accomplish with jigging? _________________ Formerly Spineyman |

| It's fun. I can't do it ALL day (arms get tired of dropping 200 & 400 below, lol).... I want to get a new spinner setup for jigging, they look so much easier to jig with.? |

Yep thats the one. Perfect for jigging to about 200' of water, unless of course you happen to hook a wahoo or tuna that wandered into the jigging zone. Then it could get real interesting pretty quick. _________________ Formerly Spineyman |

Im no "diehard" Shimano fan (in our entire stash of reels we have TLD25 and I am 1 in a million who doesn't like trolling with those after this spring's first wahoo strike, I was waiting for it to fall apart!!...) ANYWAY, but are the Saragosa's expensive? I liked yours.
I saw a Cedros yesterday that looked pretty but it was also felt little heavy. |

| Does dropping one of these count as vertical jigging? |

| First let me say that the saragoso's 14000 will not hold up to a 73 pound wahoo or YF over 100 pounds. I just had my 14000 drags changed. They were burnt together. I do like them now with the new drag material 24.00 each to replace. We have been putting the new PENN torque spinner thru the pases lately. WOW what a reel. So far it has put a whipping on bull reds @ the pass,30# snowies @ 700 feet, A host of 30 # BF's and some nice YFT, The drag still looks like new. Not sure of the cost but it light and so far handled any fight it's been in. We like to jig and have found that jigging is a great way to catch the longtail sea bass. One of the best eating fish in the sea. While seaching for deep water spots we will send down a jig first to see if any one is home. Some thing we learn from EASTERN TACKLE. I want to figure out a little more about different jigs types at 700 ft and deeper. We are just starting to learn a little more about that. Gag grouper also love jigs, That's if you can get through the AJ's. Gene |

What size Penn Torque are you using? I also love firing down a jig first, and second and third for that matter. I just like jigging. _________________ Formerly Spineyman |

We basically like offshore trolling for wahoo, dolphin, tuna, and billfish....however, we did start "butterfly jigging" (although not necessarily with Shimano's jigs) last year on a trip to Venice. We killed the red snapper on about 3 different ays and loved it!! About 100 ft. though!!
Gear we use for jigging is primarily Trinidad50, Torium20/30, and Penn 7500 spinners. Rods include Trevalla and Star equivalent for jigging. For trolling we use Tyrnos 30's with Penn Mariner stand-up outfits. We converted to the latter after using Penn Int'l 50's for several years.
Just had Half Hitch service all of the reels and replace the drag washers in the Toriums with the Carbontex drag washers.....expect the drag system to be much stronger and smoother.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!! _________________ Bert

| TeamRecess, did you find those Penn Torques locally? I wouldn't mind taking a look at them up close... but I haven't seen any around Destin. |
