How To: Ballyhoo 2 Hook Rig

How to rig ballyhoo with 2 hooks

How to Rig a 2 Hook Ballyhoo Rig
by: Capt John Mallette, Ambergris Cay, Member of NorthCarolina-Offshore.com

NOTE: The ballyhoo pictured hasn't been prepped, brined, etc.

1. You take your two hook ballyhoo rig and detach the two hooks by turning the back hook so the barb of the front hook slides out where the trailer hooks eye bends to the shaft.

2. Now you take the trailer hook and run through the ballyhoo so it comes out at the tail. Make sure this is done where the hook comes out dead center of the bait.

3. Next, you rig the front hook just like a single hook rig. Make sure the point of the front hook comes out just in front of the eye of the back hook. Once it's rigged up, then you connect the two hooks by bending the bait carefully and connect the hooks the exact opposite of how you took them apart. now in the pic,the back hook is a little smaller than the front. That's why the hooks are not completely even. You want to make sure you use the same size hooks and they fit on the bait's belly evenly. This was all I had at the moment. I apologize again. But I hope you get the idea. That makes a two hook ballyhoo. Great for running deep and WWB to prevent short strikes.
